Getting To And From and All Around Israel
Israel’s love to travel and they love to host other travelers coming to Israel. As such, for a
country whose main language is Hebrew, a language that is only really spoken in Israel, we
have made it relatively easy for the English speaker coming to Israel to get around. Nothing is
perfect, there are some points of contention, but for the most part, most road signs in Israel
are listed in Hebrew, Arabic and English. Now, pay attention for them because they are not all
as big or as easy to see or located in a place that makes sense to most people coming to Israel
from abroad. But, then again, for a country who’s native languages are from the days of the
bible, we’ve done a fairly decent job of making it mostly manageable for the English speaker.
Before you come to Israel, and if you plan to drive or even walk around here, it would be a
good idea to familiarize yourself with our road signs. Wikipedia has a great page that lists and
shows you the types of signs, if not all of the types of signs, that are in use in Israel.
