Coming2Israel.com - Biking, Cycling and Bicycles

Israel has a lot to offer for the bike enthusiast.  There is everything from mountain and off-road biking to city lanes and beach promenades and just about everything in between.  The nice thing is, is that there is already a lot of information already available in English on the web.  So, we will start you off with some basic information and some specific websites that will get you on your way. We will cover the two main options for the bike enthusiast - City biking and off-road biking.

The Rules of the Road

In Israel, by law, helmets are mandatory.  And no one wants to spend their time in Israel visiting one of our hospitals. So you should wear a properly fitted approved cycling helmet. The rules and road laws that apply to cards and other motorized vehicles also apply to bicycle riders.  Bicycles are not allowed on major routes and highways, and even if they are, we recommend staying off such routes.

While You Are Out There Riding Around

Always pay attention. Wear light colored reflective clothing, especially when riding at night. Pay attention. Use front and rear lighting systems. Pay attention. Drink lots of water. Pay attent…  you get the idea. Know your limits! Enough Talk, Time To Hit The Road! City Bike Rentals In Cities Around Israel Other Than Tel Aviv.

Unfortunately, as of yet there are no other services like the Tel Aviv-Yafo Tel-O-Fun service in other cities in Israel.   However, there are many of bike shops throughout the country that do offer bicycle rental service.  Until we have built up our guide of them your best bet, in the meantime is to speak with the concierge service at the hotel you will be staying with.  We will, of course update our site as soon as we have companies to add to our listings. Likewise, as of yet, we have not found any official City bike route maps to link you to.  But, if there is road, there is place for two wheels.  Just be careful.
