Coming2Israel.com - Gas Stations In Israel

Need To Gas Up The Car, Get Some Snacks Or Grab a Last Minute Gift For Dinner? Israel, like most countries, seems to have a gas station on just about every corner.  That is of course, until your needle is hovering around the “E” on your cars gas gauge.  Our primer will help you to be more aware of the different gas station companies in Israel.  We can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to find the one that you need in the exact moment you need it, but, as always, a good rule of thumb, is to gas up when the tank gets down to about 1/4 tank of remaining fuel. There are four major gas station companies in Israel, and once you know their logo’s, you should better be able to keep an eye out for them, so that when you do need gas, you’ll be ready to get to a gas station before your car starts running on fumes. Not all, but most of the big four gas station companies are open 24 hours per day, and are also open on holidays and the Sabbath.  Note that on Yom Kippur, like just about everything else, most, if not all, stations are probably going to be closed.  But, of course, on Yom Kippur, you should not be driving anyway - not for the religious reason, if Judaism does not apply to you, but more so, because the streets are filled with people, and especially kids, out walking or riding their bikes. It is also good for you to know that most of the stations, especially from the big four chains, have an adjacent mini- mart, also open 24 hours per day, etc.  So if you need a snack, a bottle of water, and even a cup of coffee, or a box of candy for a last minute gift, their pricing might not be the cheapest, but they will have you covered.  Wine and some spirits are also available for purchase at most of these mini-marts. Most stations offer full service and payment with credit cards.  The full service is more expensive, but unless you are familiar with using the automated payment system at the pumps, it may be the simplest option.  Of course, you can always enter to the booth or mini-mart and pay for self-service that way.

So, the four big chain stations are:
