  The Jerusalem Light Rail / Citypass The Jerusalem Light Rail is designed to be a rapid transit system cutting through Jerusalem, hoping to alleviate congestion and pollution through the city.  The Red Line is currently in use and does provide service between the Jerusalem Central Bus Station and the Old City of Jerusalem.  See below. Wikipedia Jerusalem Light Rail here: Wikipedia Jerusalem Light Rail The Citypass website in English here: Citypass Website For most visitors coming to Israel, the JLR will be most useful if you use the bus to get to Jerusalem and arrive at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station (CBS).  You can take the light rail to the old city very easily as one of the stations is at/near the Damascus Gate to the old city.  Of course, it's possible to use the light rail to get to other interesting destinations as well.
