Coming2Israel.com - Israel Railways Web Page Primer - Enjoy The
Ride!
Read our Outline Below and Then Open The Israel Railways Web Page.
When you first arrive on the Israel Railways website you are presented with some options. Perhaps the most
important link for you, is to the Journey Planner link. From this link you can enter the station that you will start
from and then the station that you will end up at, and the site will show you the options, schedule and pricing
available for the tickets you will need to make your trip. There is also a link to Tickets and Pricing, but you can
mostly by-pass this link as the Journey Planner link will present the pricing information for you anyway. Feel
free to click on it for your own information. Of course, using the Journey Planner link assumes that you already
know which station you will need to use for your trip. We will help you with this (see below).
Using the Israel Railways Journey Planner Web Page
Across the top of the page there is also a link to the Stations diagram web page. It’s not really a map, as it just
outlines the different stations and routes you can take with the Israel Railways service. It shows the routes by
color and the stations they recommend you change trains if you need to for your trip. As an example, the only
route going to the Ben Gurion airport by the train, is colored lime green on their diagram, so, if you are coming
from The South, you would need to transfer trains at one of the stations - more below. The circles for the
stations are click-able and will pass you to a page outlining specific information about that station. This
information includes the hours that the ticket booth is open, the address of the station and some of the
amenities available at that station. You can copy the address to your favorite map or GPS program to see where
it is exactly, but we have done this work for you already:

If you have time and interest the Israel Railway also operates a museum in Haifa for all of you rail buffs.
Taking the Israel Railways Trains To Ben Gurion Airport
If you are a traveler with minimal luggage - luggage that you can manage by yourself, taking the train to the Ben
Gurion Airport can be the easiest, quickest and most simple way to get to the airport.
From the Israel Railways Station Index page -

You can see that the Lime-Green colored line is the line you need to get to the airport. Or you can use the
Black-Blue Night Line running From Nahariyya all the way down to Be’er Sheva.
From Tel Aviv, during the “day” you have the option of catching the train from all four of the Tel Aviv train
stations.
NOTE: During the night, you can only catch the train from the Savidor station to the airport.
