Just about every city in Israel has allocated some parkland and green space for its citizens. As a visitor you are,
of course, more than welcome, to visit and enjoy these parks. There are little parkettes as well, but for the
purposes of our site and your visit to Israel, we will highlight at least one major park from each of the main cities
in Israel.
Haifa City Parks
Eli Cohen Park:
Named after Israel’s most famous spy.

Hecht Park
Haifa’s largest Green Lung, opened in 2008 runs parallel and in between Route 4 and the beach - before the
coastline turns in.

Herzliya City Parks
Herzliya “Sport” Park
The park is relatively new and not all land is in use yet, but take the kids for the huge slides and the Omega!

Jerusalem City Parks:
Gan Sacher - Sacher Park
Jerusalem’s largest park at 40 acres. This park includes two kids play areas, basketball courts, tennis courts,
soccer fields, a skateboarding park, a dog area, and a walking/running path.

Hamifletzet Park - Not the Official name, but literally meaning The Monster.
Located in the Kiryat HaYovel neighborhood, this park’s claim to fame is the sculpted three tongue slide coming
out of the mouth of the “monster”.

HaYarkon Park:
Although, certainly not Central Park, the HaYarkon park is an amazing oasis in the north end of Tel Aviv. If you
have time for a visit to only one park in Tel Aviv, this is the one to go to. For more information, follow the links

The green swath running left and right below Rokach Boulevard is the park.
Hiriya - Soon To Be The Ariel Sharon Park:
As you drive into Tel Aviv from Ben Gurion Airport or Jerusalem on Route 1, you cannot help but notice a rather
large mound on the right side iof the highway. There was also a time that you could not help but smell the odor
coming from this mound. This mound was site was a former waste dump for the city of Tel Aviv. It has been
closed in 1998 and plans are underway to turn the site in to a park. Check out the Wikipedia web page for more
information. Once completed the park should be three times the size of New York’s Central park.

Meir Park, Tel Aviv:
Located just southwest of the Dizengoff Center... Tel Aviv’s littler answer to Central Park.

Park Darom / Menahem Begin Park:
Located in south Tel Aviv on the north and west side of the No. 1 Highway, the Darom Park has some unique
features, with the best and most interesting being the water-ski / wake-board facility situated on the lake in the
middle of the park.

The National Park (Ramat Gan):
This park is pretty big - only HaYarkon is bigger. It is located adjacent to the Ramat Gan Safari and Zoo.
