Coming2Israel.com - Christian Sites in and Around The Galilee

(Lake Kinneret)

Jesus Ministry and the Sea of Galilee Jesus’ Ministry is said to have been forged and established in and around the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret).  In fact, if we understand what we have read and learned about Jesus correctly, most of his miracles were preformed in this area of the Holy Land.  We know that most visitors to Israel may not have the time to make the trip to this northern part of the country, but if you do, if you can make the time, you must.  Aside from all of the religious connections for you, this area of Israel is truly a beautiful and amazing place. 1)  Kursi National Park - The site, on the eastern shores of the Kinneret, has one of the largest Byzantine era monasteries in Israel.  Believed to be the site where Jesus exorcised demons from a man into a heard of pigs, that then ran into the waters of the Sea of Galilee and drowned. Whatever you may believe, we think it’s worth a look.
