Coming2Israel.com - The Beaches Around The Kinneret (Sea Of
Galilee)
The Kinneret is Israels largest lake and largest source of natural drinking water. For the most part, we have been
taking more water from it than is replenished by rains and springs and rivers leading to it. Every winter we pray for a
lot of rain in the north so that the Kinneret refills. However, that does not stop us from enjoying the aquatic life in
and around the lake.

The Kinneret is home to Tiberius, the largest city in the shores of the lake and home to many of the resort hotel
chains in the region. Of course, surrounding the lake you will also find many significant religious and historic sites
and points of interest as well as other lodgings and resort locations to spend the night.

The Beaches Around the City Of Tiberias:
We will begin our list of beaches on the Kinneret in Tiberias and work our way around the lake, more or less, in a
clockwise direction.
Please note that most if not all of Tiberias beaches require an admission fee. But you can consider it like this, you get
what you pay for, as the pay for beaches are usually cleaner and well maintained and have other amenities for the
beach goer.
Below is a list of what, should be, all of the beaches in and around Tiberias:
The Separate Beach (for the religious population):
A separate beach for men and women, at the southern entrance to Tiberius - next to the Rabbi Meir Baar Hanesse
grave.
The beach is open every day for men and women (separate swimming area for each).

A boardwalk, just over a half a kilometer long, between Tzemach Beach (see below for the link to Tzemach Beach) and
Dganya Aleph Kibbutz. Makes for a nice stroll.
